Question Autochromes from WW1

Anyone else see the latest autochromes screened by the BBC recently and now available on I-Player - from the First World War.

I love the colours and the painterly quality of the images and they 'speak' to me so much more than most of the stuff I see taken by swanky digital equipment. One particular shot was like a Corot coming to life.

Sharpness of course is never mechanically perfect but somehow that's totally irrelevant to the success of these images as communicators.

What do you think of them?
