Re: SRB Photographic service and poor attitude to faulty item

Just noticed on the link above that they are asking customers to

"VOTE SRB PHOTOGRAPHIC FOR THE GOOD SERVICE AWARD 2016"

Oh the irony!

Alf, I wonder if SRB saw this setup they would have an argument for too much strain being placed on the tubes? There must be quite a weight in that Sigma (not that I have ever held one) and having read tales on this forum about MMF-? connectors failing completely (falling apart) with large lenses attached I wonder if one (or more) of the tubes is 'stretching'.

Just a thought and SRB should really have ask you to return the tubes for inspection.

I would have thought that the first thing they would do was ask for them back to check for any accidental damage - and also to test to see if the issues Alf was suffering were actually caused by the rings at all.

Having seen the successful shots Alf was getting with these rings I had contemplated getting some myself - however I certainly won't be looking at them if they only have a life expectancy of a year. To my mind a one year life expectancy certainly isn't "fit for purpose" as all my other camera gear has lasted far far longer and shows no signs of failing.

Cheers,

Ralph.
My thoughts exactly.

If it said on the site we do not recomend this set of tubes for lenses over XXX grammes I would agree or if they had asked some questions like have dropped the item what combination of equipement did you use etc etc I could see your point.

They said "You have had them over a month we cannot do anything" as thier first stock reply.

Yes I have to agree, that just isn't good enough in this day and age. I hope you get a satisfactory outcome Alf, all the best!
