Really nice street images.

I haven't tried this style of photography yet, not always welcomed in the UK today sadly.

Here you go... but only if you give some opinions of colour vs mono!

Re: Some street shots from Italy

Mono version of lost in thought is the stand out for me. I prefer the colour version of making an entrance.

Re: Some street shots from Italy

interesting set. Making the entrance is my pic as it has a contrast

Would you mind if I did some editing?

I really like the Lost in Thought composition

Feel free to edit. I'd be interested in what you can do. If you're feeling inspired, I can provide the raw if you really want it!

Paul,
The B&W "transport" did not do it for me, I wanted nice bright zingy colours. Alas the colour did not provide so I think you were correct in going for the B&W.

"Making An Entrance" grabs the eye in both colour and B&W but I think I'll plump for the colour in this case.

"Lost in thought" is a more difficult one to choose between. I would tone down the yellow colour on that left hand wall as it dominates too much. In the B&W version the walls are just background and the women is the centre of attention; this does not come through enough in colour.

Re: Some street shots from Italy

certainly not prefect
can only guess how it looked as I wasn't there; but is "how it looked" so important? I don't think so

Best way to see the difference is to download the before/after photos and flick between them
