Helios 135mm f2.8 M42 fit

I have been given one of these. I remember Helios from my Zenith days in the very early 70s and they made some nice glass (I had the 58mm f2 on my 3M). I am tempted to try this 135mm on my new E-M1 as it is in great condition with no fungus and just a few specks of dust. But before I get myself a M42/micro43rds adapter from Ebay I would like to know if anyone has used this lens on an Olympus digital body and if so what was the IQ like?

Re: Helios 135mm f2.8 M42 fit

I think there are 2 versions of this lens, 1 actualy made by Helios (Russian) and i think because demand was high they had some/most made in Japan. I think the Russian made one was the better image wise. But then i could be wrong. I do have one somewhere i will look and maybe take some shots.

This was taken through a double glazed window on an overcast day. Not too bad for a cheap lens.

The Japanese version was discussed in a thread years ago. IIRC Ian thought it was sold by Dixons when the were re badging Zenit cameras as Prinzflex.
