How long a life

Can anyone tell me how long I can expect my beloved E500 to work for, has olympus ever released a guide for the number of shutter actuations before failure.

Seems if you've got a duff one it could fail at any time .... but if you're lucky,it could go on almost forever!

Don't know about the E-500 specifically, but I did read somewhere that the E-1 or E-3 shutter had a life expectancy of around 150,000 operations.

I would imagine the rest of the range would be similar.

Can't find the source, but when I got my camera they said approx 100 000 clicks. Mine is at 22946 now, and still counting.
