Four Thirds 40-150 (f/3.5-f/4.5)

I saw one of these in the windows of a local pawn shop for 20 only - complete with hood, and both caps. Happened to have camera and adapter with me and it looks and handled okay and seems dusty but not (as far as I can tell) fungal inside so I couldn't resist for that price. It's obviously the "consumer grade" rather than HG or SHG. Not sure I will have much use for it when I have (HG) 12-60 f/2.8-f/4 and (HG) 50-200 f/2.8 - f/3.5. Smaller than the latter so maybe of some theoretical value when packing lighter, though I tend to use MFT when I'm packing light.

Is it a decent lens at all, or just a historical curiosity?

It's quite a good lens. I have one though I haven't used it for years. Here's an in image I took with it:

It is a very good lens and you got yourself a great bargain. I had one years ago when it came in a kit with my E500. I used it a lot on a holiday in Egypt and was very impressed with it. Occasionally I hanker after another one and even at a more 'normal' 50 or so, represents a good deal.
