Phil,

That's a triumph! Almost an HDR effect with that glow from the middle. With some tiny brown patches cloned out, that would be one for the wall.

Thank you Phil. The Agapanthus is a photo I took last year. I came out of hospital on Sunday, but have not yet been able to take any photos because of the sensitivity to sunlight. The pain from the shingles around the eyes, prevents me from putting anything up to the eyes. I have been going through old photos for editing. I am hopeful I can get back to photography when the shingles have cleared up

Thanks Harold, praise indeed welcomed

As suggested, here it is again with the brown patches removed. Thank you for that tip

Re: Communal flowers, trees, plants and fungi thread

Coral Spot Fungus on Red Currant Bush

Nectria cinnabarina, is also known as coral spot. Nectria spp are plant pathogens that causes cankers and die back on broadleaf trees. The infections are easily recognisable by the presence of the pink sexual stage (1-4mm across) on the outside of the host. If you take a walk in a temperate deciduous wood you may see these on detached twigs on the ground.

This example was on an elderly (30+ years?)White Currant bush in our garden. The White Currants are a variety of Red Currants and both are distinct from Blackcurrants. White and red varieties are caused some damage by the fungus whereas the black ones seem unaffected.

I had not seen the fungus on the bush in previous years.

Olympus EM-1, (aperture priority), Olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro, 1/60 or 1/30 at f8, daylight, hand-held.

High magnification:

Olympus EM-1 (manual mode), Leitz Wetzlar Photar 25mm f2.5 macro at f11 (?), twin TTL flash, hand-held with support. Magnifications set on lens x2.5 or x4, FOV about 4-6mm wide.

Harold
