Smile ‪#‎sickofpolitics‬

I'm so pleased that it's all over and we have not got weeks/months of political wrangling.

Hopefully all the annalists and pollsters have also resigned, having got it so wrong.

I refuse to answer this on the grounds I may incriminate myself.

Re: ‪#‎sickofpolitics‬

Over for a short while, maybe, as Salmond said the lion has roared. So another in/out Scottish referendum - it will happen before Olympus bring out the next EM5, the Mk3!
Following on we can look forward to the the EU referendum in 2017, it will soon be Law, David is a man of his word.
Good result!

Only by making a camera related comment, did you avoid being deselected from this thread...

I'm looking forward to seeing what people do with the Olympus O P C

The next version of the E-M1, be it a MkII or an E-M? is becoming eagerly awaited.

Yeah, I thought I was on thin ice!!

That OPC 'thing' could suffer ergonomically, but it will be interesting to see what some of the more imaginatively thinking people can make of it.

Re: ‪#‎sickofpolitics‬

I'm staying out of this, except to say that collectively we voted for the new government, so collectively we will get what we deserve. If we also vote to leave the EU in two years time I hope it doesn't adversely affect the prices of Olympus products or repairs in Portugal. On a personal level, I'm an old man (at least in body) so it doesn't really matter to me. One solution for me and my family (if I can face the upheaval) is to move to Scotland in two years when my daughter finishes her secondary education. By then we will probably have another Scottish Independence referendum and the Scots are unlikely to be fooled twice, plus there's the added advantage of being nearer to Ffordes for some used camera bargains!

Re: ‪#‎sickofpolitics‬

Excellent decision of yours to end on a camera related comment, or you too might have been deselected by Graham. I came close.

I might still be deselected!, but I'm working on the John Cleese policy of "don't mention the War. I mentioned it once but I think I got away with it!" Anyway, it's all over now bar the shouting - and that will never stop!

Re: ‪#‎sickofpolitics‬

I have to admit that I was impressed by some of the technology that was being used. The interactive "wall" was a big improvement on the banks of screens.

I also liked the comments to Prof Sir David Butler - known as the "sultan of swing" when they said that every year they consider going back to a bit of wood nailed to a board...

Polling for the "desired features" on the next new camera can now begin in earnest.

Re: ‪#‎sickofpolitics‬

Now as a complete outsider I was/am completely non-partisan, so presumably that gives me diplomatic immunity from deselection, but I followed your election along with the rest of the world. Seems to me that David Cameron comes across as a competent politician, who I as a Labor (that's how it's spelled) supporter here can't but admire him -so whatever your political views are, at least you got the devil you know .

Edit: BTW - I would be interested to know whether voting is compulsory in the UK as it is here, Downunder.

And why is your polling day not on a Saturday?

He was stated by right wing Nick Robinson, to be "the most competent economist you're ever likely to meet".
