Islington, Angel Festival

We went to Islington, London at the weekend so that we could attend the annual Angel Festival.

We saw loads of people we know and catch up with on annual basis, great day with nice weather and friendly people.

I took the EPL5 + Pany 20mm and again it captured great results.

Sorry, it is rather image heavy.

Great set Ian love the Pashley in the last and ALL your "street" people (especially the lady with the veiled fascinator

I have not been to Islington ... for 30+ years however, your Morris Dancer looks like a top Lawyer I used to know, who lived opposite the "Sceen"

Re: Islington, Angel Festival

Thanks Chevvy,

It was a great day that we both loved and always do (this was year 8 for us).

The lady in blue with the veiled fascinator is my wife and she has a vintage stall on the canal side, the lady with her is Swedish and she makes some of the best cup cakes we have ever tasted.

A great set Ian. I like the Morris Man with the unwitting 'dancer' joining him in the background. I am trying to work out what the intriguing, lurid orange food is.

Interesting images Ian, I have to agree with Ron, the disinterested passer-by in the background of No. 7 makes a great shot.

Hi Ian,

Don't apologise for the thread being image heavy, that's how I like it! In fact, the pictures are so captivating that you left me wishing for more! Looks like the festival is a wonderful event.

This thread takes me back, it's nearly 30 years since I lived and worked in the area and used to wander around with an OM1.

The orange food was fresh chicken that had been marinated in a satay sauce - did not try it but it had an amazing aroma!

Thanks John,

The full set from the trip including the ones taken with the Ricoh GR can be see at the link below:

I do have to say that both cameras complimented each other well and being small were easy to carry and use.

My thoughts exactly when I saw this shot. Wonderful capture amongst great shots.

Re: Islington, Angel Festival

Thanks for the nice comments all, it was a fun filled day and between the EPL5 and GR I captured some images I am really happy with.

I have been contemplating changing the EPL5 for the EP5 (there are some well priced used ones around now) but would appreciate thoughts from those who have one / have used one.

Thanks All,
Ian
