Re: HELP - Which One Says "Abstract?"

The final, rotated, number 2 for me, possibly with small dark element at the top (bottom) cropped out? Definitely abstract but it does look disconcertingly like one of my migraine attacks!

Thanks Ron, just don't look at it for too long!

Upside down cropped number 2. Or 4. But I really like number 1 as well....

1 or 4 for me. I wonder how many reflections will be entered in the competition.

That's a good point, David.

Re: HELP - Which One Says "Abstract?"

John. I googled "What is abstract art?" As I have never understood it, and boy, that opened a can of worms, and an hour later I am more confused than ever.
But - in amongst the gobbledegook, the writer said " The logic of perspective and an attempt to reproduce an illusion of visible reality".
Therefore it has to be No2, but I wouldn't crop it as I love those poles which perhaps add the reality aspect.
If the judges googled like me, you have the competition won!
Good Luck!

Re: HELP - Which One Says "Abstract?"

I'd go with no2 cropped as it is the only one that meets the brief and some judges are a stickler for that.

Re: HELP - Which One Says "Abstract?"

John, I'd go with a cropped No2, and then develop the image much further into abstraction push the envelope as far as you can. You certainly have a wonderful starting point with this image.

Re: HELP - Which One Says "Abstract?"

My thoughts - you could try turning the puddle through 90 instead of 180.

Re: HELP - Which One Says "Abstract?"

All are good pictures but since the theme is "abstract" I would pick #2, after cropping off the top third or so (too "concrete"), only rendering the reflections in water.

#1 would be my second pick.

Re: HELP - Which One Says "Abstract?"

Thanks everyone, there is now a definite consensous for No 2 and I will rework it to see what I can come up with.

Re: HELP - Which One Says "Abstract?"

How about this version? Or is it just plain ridiculous?

Re: HELP - Which One Says "Abstract?"

That's along the lines I was thinking of John just a wee bit more pushing the envelope should do it.

That looks good to me John.

Regards.

ps. I nearly said I like it but I'm now afraid that I could be misunderstood.
