Sandbanks, Dorset

Nick and I took a drive down through the country to Sandbanks. This is where many Millionaires live (Harry Redknapp is resident and a regular in the media)

As we walked along this street, a gentle perfume hung in the air about us, beautiful air

The Tree on the left just in shot is Mimosa - so fragrant

I caught this "shadow and sun reflections" along the footpath - I was intrigued by the light playing games and creating patterns - it was from the pool in the decking, the other side of ...

their nice Nice "wall or fence"

For getting "on Deck" not decking - this access to ONE's Yacht or Gin Palace "Sunseeker" is for the few with 4million for a holiday home here

Nick went surfing - it took a lot "out of him"

We did enjoy looking at so many "mansions of 12-20 million but I did not dare take photos in case the "occupiers" chased me - whereas this one was clearly un loved/un occupied ! hardly used infact!

Re: Sandbanks, Dorset

Nice series . We visited that neck of the woods last year, I'd rather live in Swanage than Sandbanks! I really liked it there.

ps. If you point your cam at the mansions, the residents can chase you but you don't have to run away; on account of it being perfectly legal. It's a good idea to have a large dog with you mind

Hi chevvy...lying on my back in bed to comment on my galaxy S2.
This is an interesting glimpse into your visit to sandbanks. It reminds me of so much of SANDY BAY Hobart, Tasmania of which I will create a new Thread soon. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Sandbanks, Dorset

I see what looks like a Golden Wattle tree in #3 that has obviously been stolen by one of those millionaires during their visit to Oz! Also meant to say that photographing houses in Oz does not invoke any angst of the owners. They are more likely to see it as a compliment.

John, the traffic jams are "horrid" and I would not bother with a Sandbanks home ! It is useful if your into sailing and can access your home that way ... there is no helicopter landing home !

My personal preference is "Beer" nearby

pps we have a huge Black German Shepherd and an energetic English Springer Spaniel - one would bike the other lick, them to death

I would like to take photos for an architecture project - some of the designs are amazing ...

Re: Sandbanks, Dorset

Mark, lovely to hear from you ! is Wangeretta ok ? we were concerned by the "floods" as mentioned in the Aussie thread ?

The "Tree" may well be "stolen" or imported from Aus ... much as the "Bottlebrush" & "Kowai" are from NZ

Re: Sandbanks, Dorset

Wangaratta escaped the floods which have inundated many nth eastern victorian towns and much worse in southern NSW. Wang' (as we call it for short) only gets flooded in the lowest areas by the river. Most of the town is high enough as not to be affected ... at least so fa

I havent seen the Aussie thread yet.

ME CRUEL I PAID the surf board hire and lessons fees

Peter that reflection is WICK*D I only took a shot of the posh "railings" for the story

and Boy how they live ! But I love my life ... I can walk out and about anywhere, no one chasing me with a camera in my face. People let me out in traffic (and not those driving the Aston Martin, Bentley, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche) and best of all along my way, I meet and greet people I know in the villages about - as we are a Community ! PRICELESS money cannot buy that !
