Images I Bought the Laowa 25mm x2.5 to x5 For e.g. Arcyria

The 25mm was marketed to give wideangle depth perpective at high magnification, together with high resolution. This would be particularly useful for slime moulds, where the colonies are very 3-dimensional rather than growing in a more or less linear pattern. The genus Arcyria is a prime target for this function. This colony had some sporocarps expanded and others not so (sausage-shaped) .

With the expanded ones, I played with micro contrast, using a bit more than usual, showing surprising detail in some of the threads of the capitilium, where the presence of bulging rings or spirals is diagnostic. The resolution of the lens is excellent.

Olympus EM-1 (manual mode), Laowa 25mm f2.8 2.5x-5x ultra-macro at fx2.5 and f8 or f11, FOV 7mm wide, triple TTL flash hand-held.

The stereo is crosseye. The stereo demonstrates the performance of the lens much better than the single frame.

The body is willing but the mind is weak.
