Couldn't agree with Brian more. It's a stunning shot. I was in Venice earlier in the year and it really is beautiful. I didn't get anything quite as nice as your shot though.

It's just gorgeous Chris.
Beautiful colours, and brought back memories of our visit there many years ago.
Such a beautiful city and your photo epitomises it perfectly.

Re: Grand Canal, Venice

Very nice indeed. I guess that this was taken from the bridge near the railway station. We were there last month and even though the weather was great, we weren't there when they light was interesting, unlike you.

Thanks all. It was taken from the Rialto bridge if my memory serves me right.

Re: Grand Canal, Venice

Too many approprtaite adjectives already used, so I'll repaet what first came to mind: Stunning!

Composition and colour. I'm sure this would make a wonderful large print.

David.

Re: Grand Canal, Venice

The timing, with the lights on but still some ambient light in the sky, makes the difference between a good shot and an exceptional one.

Re: Grand Canal, Venice

I have a similar shot, taken in daylight, but nothing like as impactful as this one. Yes, get it on canvas!
