I remember having a play with one at the Focus show. Remind me, is there a filter thread?

Re: XZ-1 image sample

There is no filter thread. The barrel does have a thread to take the TCON-17 telephoto converter lens, but this stays behind when the lens extends and so can't be used for filters.

The XZ-1 does have a built in neutral density filter to assist in using wide apertures in low light. It seems to darken by 3 stops (I just tested it at 1/400th without the ND filter and this reduced to 1/50th with the filter).

I'm curious as to the actual size of the camera, as noticed on some forums people complaining that it wasn't 'pocketable.' Any chance of side by side shot with a Pen for comparison?
By the way, it fits into the pockets of my 'relaxed fit' Levis jeans

Re: XZ-1 image sample

Is there any information available on what I still call "shutter lag" for this camera - I'm still just missing too many magic moments of my little granddaughter with my panny G2.

There is something not right there - the G2 has negligible shutter lag. Maybe it's an AF issue? The G2 has very fast AF but you need to give it the right conditions to AF at optimum speed.
