Like me! It's not just size though, it's the quality of the Oly lenses - in my opinion, far better than the Canon lenses I used (and still have).

Having said that, if, as some have reported, the EM1X is going to be much bulkier and presumably heavier, it will need to have many advances over the Mk II to tempt me. In almost every way, the Mk II is my ideal camera.

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

While I'd love handheld hi-res for landscape, the last thing I want is a built in grip. The focus again seems to be on speed. I want an E-M1.1 sized body that does handheld hi-res, and has a real increase in sensor performance in a light, small body that doesn't cost the earth. Looks like my E-M1.1 will have to last a bit longer.

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

I've moved away from big and heavy and certainly don't want to go back again.
That's just me, though, and I'm sure that the new camera will be perfect for many others .... it may even turn the heads of one or two pros as well methinks

With the appearance of these rumours I’m just waiting for the torrent of “Imminent death of APSC/Full Frame/Medium Format/Canon/Nikon/Pentax/Ricoh/Sony/Fuji/Leica/Hasselblad*” dpreview posts and Tony Northrup YouTube videos to start...

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

Can we conclude that Olympus will once again claim that the C-AF is every bit as good as a DSLR?

And even better, Simon has come back with another comment confirming more details (yes, I've saved it for reference again ) with this statement at the end, "So, look forward to the launch of the camera at the end of january 2019 and 2 more bodies next year."

https://www.43rumors.com/ft4-first-r...ent-4191895273

BTW, Simon had said earlier this year that there was a 30% improvement in the IS, so that is approximately 30% better than at the present (body only) 5.5 stops.

It is, Paul, but it’s just not every bit as good as that of the best DSLRs!

While noting it was introduced 2 years later, I have spent a morning in a birding hide using a friend’s D750 while he used my E-M1ii, and we overall got a very similar rate of infocus images. The cameras handle wildly differently and the viewfinder experiences are worlds apart, but their CAF in our hands were roughly as good as each other.

Well. we’ll see, but if it comes to pass the most interesting bit is perhaps the two other bodies next year. Hopefully a 5iii and a PenFii?

Maybe. He did say earlier this year there were no plans that he knew of for an E-M5 Mk III, but hopefully that has changed now, however he was saying a PEN-F Mk II will come, especially since it's a good seller in Japan.

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

Given a choice, I’d vote for a 5iii plus a good-quality EPL1 sized miniature with a tilt screen.
