Bridge-to-Bridge (lots of images)

Today I joined a few folk from the Inverness Flickr group for a trip from Carrbridge to Spean Bridge with a handful of stops for photographs.

The first stop was at Feshiebridge

1.

Then on to the Falls of Pattack with these 2 shots taken on the River Pattack, upstream of the actual falls

2.

3.

A quick stop at the Laggan Dam

4.

Then on to Monessie Gorge

5.

And then up the hill across the road to Cille Choirill Church and Graveyard where we passed a cluster of monument cairns like this one amongst the trees, some were overgrown others were toppled, but this one was in the best condition, space and light

6.

Some from the church and graveyard

7.

8.

9.

By this time we were ready for a pint and stopped in Roy Bridge before parting at Spean Bridge! What a lot of bridges!

Thanks for looking and apologies for the number of images.

A glorious set Iain. You can never post too many of these.

No 2 is my favourite, beautiful light.

Many thanks for sharing.

Re: Bridge-to-Bridge (lots of images)

You had a very busy day, with an awesome haul of excellent pictures. Are you sure it wasn't a week rather than just a day? I'm jealous!

It's been many years since I stopped in Roy Bridge. Is Johnny's Bar still there. I suspect the Johnny we knew is long since dead, but in our time we drunk many a whisky in his company after a long day in the hills.

I couldn't tell you John, sorry; we went in to the lounge bar of the Roy Bridge Hotel. It was OK but no real ale

It was only a day, honest! Long but enjoyable :-)

What a great set...the more images like this the better....its never too many.
I'm impressed with the capture of movement in the water...not frozen and not too blurred.
thanks for posting.

Thanks Brian, I usually take a couple (or more) of shots of rivers/falls/lochs/sea at different shutter speeds and then picked my favourite when I get home - the beauty of digital.
