Gosh time passes quickly. Wouldn't have thought it was 10 years.

I didn't know that. It will have to be a bunch of flowers from the petrol station on the way home.

Doesn't time fly
Some time after that there was a discussion that took place here (a thread started by Ian I remember) as to whether those of us using "proper 4/3" cameras could ever see ourselves moving to a system with an electronic viewfinder... The concept of not having one seems a little odd now - my 4/3 cameras are mainly gathering dust (except the E500 which continues to gather grease when I use it under my land Rover) I say Happy Birthday to u4/3 Regards Andy

Re: 10th Anniversary of Micro Four Thirds
![]() This was in June 2008, visiting Panasonic Lumix in Japan for the first revelation of Micro Four Thirds. The person on the far left is dpreview's founder, Phil Askey. We were shown a very primitive engineering sample, plus bits and pieces still on exposed circuit boards. I remember thinking - wow, the viewfinder technology alone was a huge step forwards. And also - Panasonic, not Olympus, is driving this! Keeping this under my hat for three months wasn't at all easy! I still have my Lumix G1 - never going to sell that! Ian

Re: 10th Anniversary of Micro Four Thirds
My daughter was actually using my old G1 yesterday - first time in months she's turned it on.

Re: 10th Anniversary of Micro Four Thirds
I have kept and E-5; I actually have one of all the E-System cameras apart from an E-600 (I have an E-620) amd an E-3 (though I may look to fill that gap some time in the future
![]() I liked the E-5 a lot; imagine an E-5 wit the OM-D E-M5 Mark II sensor and shutter and maybe the E-1's mirror mechanism ![]() Ian

Re: 10th Anniversary of Micro Four Thirds
I ‘got’ into m4/3rds early doors with a Panasonic G1 and I loved it, wish I had kept it
Left m4/3 for sometime for Sony aps-c but been happily back in the fold for some time, which is where I will stay. |
