Recovery software!

I've been a bit of a doughnut(don't ask) and deleted a picture from a compact flash card that I think may be OK.
I know this has been discussed before but cannot find it.It's an ORF,I've tried rescuePRO which doesn't seem to like Raw files.

Any ideas preferably free.

Thanks

Re: Recovery software!

It's not free but it works brilliantly with E-3 files and should, I expect, be good with E-5 RAWs, is CardRecovery.

It was discussed on FTU ages back:

Their site is at:

Re: Recovery software!

You could try getdataback. The free version doesn't actually let you restore recovered data but, rather bizarrely, you can copy anything from it's recovery window and then paste it somewhere else. I've used it but only on small JPEGs so it might not be as easy on an ORF

Re: Recovery software!

I've used 'ZAR' (Zero Assumption Recovery), which is free for memory cards. They claim it will reach those parts of a CF card that others can't! It worked for me.

Thanks worked a treat.None of the others did so I'll keep this.A bit clunky and slow but who cares.

Re: Recovery software!

I used ZAR on tuesday to recover a formatted smartmedia card.
Worked like a charm.
I keep recommending it, may be a little slow but it's reliable.
