insurance

Away from politics, I have just tried one of the so called comparison web sites on house insurance, before I had the chance to even look at the quotes the phone rang, it was the “AA” ringing to see If I would like to take up insurance with them?
Fast off the mark or what?
I had the unfortunate experience of being a victim of crime last year my camera bag was snatched with some kit in it, lenses etc, value £1700, now my insurance has gone up by over £100 this year.
I had not claimed for many years before.
Has any one had the same experience with insurance companies?

Richard

Re: insurance

I have just revalued all of my home contents......and to make sure that all of my camera equipment was insured.....well its costing me £110 PCM.

According to the list values of my equipment, I have over £17K invested.

I did ring other dedicated camera insurance vendors to check the price, and they said it was becuase I needed to cover the kit whilst it was mobile. Other quotes were even higher.

I also have my laptops, phones and my large film collection insured as well.

I'm also with Aaduki http://www.aaduki.com/ and find them excellent to deal with, recently had contact with them after selling my Pentax gear and changing back to Olympus.

A pension is something that we all look forward to when we retire on the face of it not bad, when you get it, and each year It is increased by a percentage, may be 2%, when I was at school 2% of nothing much, is not a lot, but if you are a politician or a banker or even one of those celebs on BBC 2% of their wages is one hell of a lot, so it is like that old song the rich get richer and the poor get ripped off.

This years claim = next years premium. Insurance underwriters do not lose money...
