Brighton

Taken on our "Holiday" from Retirement, in Brighton yesterday. Stormy Sea - sadly we were too late for turning of the tide, which would have been AMAZING. But this is Out Of Camera and only resized jpeg edit for the forum posting.

Taken using Art Filter 10/Dramatic Tone

and this only cropped jpeg to pano - as I felt the top heavy 'moody sky' did not add to the image.

What do you think could improve this image?

Yes, but it's knowing when to click the shutter that matters.

And which direction to point it in!

Great image - second version for me looks better as the dramatic tone at the top looks a little too dramatic for me.

Cheers,

Ralph.

Re: Brighton

That looks fantastic.....I prefer the first one....the dramatic tone is a bit extreme but the effect is very attractive in my opinion.

Re: Brighton

That screams mono to me especially if you have the RAW file.

Re: Brighton

IMO the dramatic tone filter is often overused and inappropriate. However, this is the best example I've seen for a long time and I'm very impressed. Definitely prefer it uncropped.

Re: Brighton

I'd prefer the effect toned down a little, but uncropped for me, too...

I still like the colour, but Alf is absolutely right about the B&W.

Re: Brighton

All good here Chevvy, ditto for you and yours, just sat here with her indoors planning a Christmas photo shoot with the grandchildren and their cousins in fancy dress/costumes. Not been on here much lately but still lurk most days, the E-600 doesn't get used to much these days hence my absence. Perhaps I should dust it off. Mart.
