Nature / Bird photography courses in South Wales...

Hi All

Am interested in finding some day long photography courses in South Wales / Gower / Pembroke specifically covering birds, woodland or shoreline birds, or other aspects of nature photography.

I have had a quick peruse on google and found some, but wondered if anyone here knew of photographers offering courses in these areas on these subjects. Cheers.

I don't think there is much in your area. The RPS Nature Group is a good source of info - see www.rpsnaturegroup.com. I am a member but have not been very active recently due to family circumstances.

Also try the small ads in magazines like "Outdoor Photographer".

Not courses, but a club.

This club includes some of the top local nature photographers

That is a really good link, Andy.

It's a shame that Cowbridge is such a long way from Bristol (not to mention the bridge tolls ) - I would be interested in some of those talks.

If you're interested in similar I suggest contacting the Bristol Naturalists Society. They are quite an active group and should be able to point you in the right direction in your local area.

The same applies over much of the country - most people will have a local Natualists group or Wildlife Trust group whi if not directly involved in your interest should be able to point you in the right direction

Regards
Andy

Re: Nature / Bird photography courses in South Wales...

I am a founder member of the Avon Wildlife Trust, and know people in the Bristol Nats and similar groups, but have never seen an equivalent to the group in South Wales.

Perhaps there is a gap for such a group in Bristol - there are plenty of very good nature photographers in this area.
