Help on proprietory print size

Hi everyone ,been in hospital so not posting much and now I need help.Normally I print my own shots at home however I took a lot of shots of new grandaughter before falling ill and family want some copies and I have decided easiest way is to print them at Jessops or some other quick print place. My question is whats the optimum size and dpi you would use for 6 by 4 prints.I know I should know this but I am not sure any help appreciated.I use Lightroom & CS4 to prepare for print.
Cheers Iain
