I wouldn't have put it past the marketing men but fortunately the Babylon Bee appears to be satire .

Sorry Keith, only devoted Canonites are "Professionals" and even then, only if you have an 18 inch hunk of white lens weighing in at a few kilos on the front of the camera.

Other users are strictly amateurs until they see sense and become apprentice Canonites.

Awwwww, Geeeee .... all that money I spent on me Em1ii and lenses and I'm still not a pro.

Never mind, look on the bright side -
a/ - I'm not a poser,
b/ - my back and shoulders thank me every time I go out with my gear,
c/ - my pictures look just as good
d/ - I'll talk to anyone regardless of the size of their equipment

So, you know what .... I'm a happy chappie

What about Canon LTMs?

The definition of a professional photographer is someone who charges money for their snaps, thus making a living, using the income to pay the mortgage etc.

The post was intended to be "tongue in cheek" in response to Keith's, not to be taken seriously

Re: Professional Photographers Certificates.

I liked the idea that these certificates only came with budget and mid-range Canons .

The true definition of a professional is someone who makes the bulk of their living from their profession, it has nothing directly to do with the quality of their work!

There's some quite good items, but it's not as good as Newsthump.

Agreed, but its scope is a bit limited - "The Babylon Bee is Your Trusted Source For Christian News Satire." . I thought this was quite good though:

England Forced To Crown Donald Trump As King After Strange Woman Lying In Pond Lobs A Sword At Him

Yes, I like that one. The last paragraph is straight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Re: Professional Photographers Certificates.

I think the concept is a great one and should be extended to other devices; let's say buying a blood pressure monitor makes you an MD.
Buy a set of scalpels and you can put FRCS after your monika. There are already some practitioners whom I suspect obtained their degrees by such means.
