Time and date settings

One of my work colleagues has just bought an EM10 twin lens kit for a very good price. As he has also joined my club, he wanted to get something better that a decent bridge camera. He is new to the world of interchangeable lens digital camera systems and has an issue with the time and date settings, which seem to reset themselves following battery charging. I have never notice an issue with my EM1 or EPL5 so I am asking if there is a maximum length of time that a battery can be left out of an EM10 body before a reset takes place?
This may not be EM10 specific but any answers would be welcome.

Re: Time and date settings

I've only ever noticed this after having left the battery out for weeks on my old e-500. Most often, we swap batteries so I doubt that anyone would know.

The problem is finding out could take a very long time, as you have to put a battery in to see if it's reset to factory default and if it hasn't then just by inserting the battery, you have start again.

Can't the 10 be charged via the usb lead

Re: Time and date settings

I would suggest leaving the battery in the camera overnight. There would be either a small battery / capacitor internally to support the circuit used to store / retain data.
Hope this helps
