Choosing a focus mode (AF Mode) Pge 48

Working my way through the manual and trying to understand how to select C-AF+TR setting as described in the manual on page 48

I press the AF button and the rear dial is shown greyed out on the display screen.

What other setting is a pre requisite to enable the rear button to be used in AF mode

Thanks

Re: Choosing a focus mode (AF Mode) Pge 48

Solved it - the focus clutch (as they call it) was in the manual focussing position.

That caused me so much trouble ( me old fumble fingers) that I've disabled it in the menu.

Re: Choosing a focus mode (AF Mode) Pge 48

I was bitten by this issue when I got my first EM1, I took the usual handling pics and was quite puzzled by the poor (non existent auto focus) - On another occasion I was able to help out a sales assistant in a shop who could not get an EM1 to focus,
yet it can turn up in strange circumstances to bite one in the hand.
