Perhaps the next step is a robotic camera. One that goes out and takes the photos for you, then comes back and automatically plays them for you via your TV.

Or maybe one sporting retractable propellers, that goes off and takes all those aerial shots you'd just love to take!

When we can no longer afford foreign holidays, or the fossils fuels have run out, it'll be much more socially acceptable for a camera to go off on its own holidays and take the photos for you, so that all you have to do is lounge in front of your TV, and wait for the images to appear in real time!

They might even call it an "Olybirder Mk II".....

Why wait - you can watch an infinite amount of programs showing pictures taken in distant places.

All of the David Attenborough programs
All of the news programs to see nature having a go at humans, humans having a go at humans in exotic locations eg Cairo, Manchester etc
