E-PL5 Power on problem

I used my E-PL5 around two years.

However, it appeared a problem last week,

I cannot turn on my camera, when I tried to turn on it,

it emitted a shutter sound and it will automatically turn off the camera after a few

second, even the screen can show the menu, I cannot select anything at all.

Has anyone encountered this problem?

I guess it may be the shutter's motor problem, is there any method for me to repair

my camera except send it to Olympus?

Re: E-PL5 Power on problem

Try removing the battery and leaving it for a few days. This will let the camera discharge and just may get it back to life. The time/date may need resetting.

If not then it's decision time...

Thank you for your reply.
I just remove the battery and I will report the result after a few days, hope that the camera can back to life

Re: E-PL5 Power on problem

My EPL5 died in a similar way.

Cost 99 for a new shutter system from Olympus.

Actually thought it was worthwhile, as the camera is guarrenteed for 6 months and is "virtually" new. Very sellable if you decide to upgrade, which I did.

Couple of years ago m=now...........
