Rolling Shutter.

With the introduction of the "Silent Shutter" capability in recent OM-D cameras there has been some discussion on here of its limitations, especially the "Rolling Shutter" effect. I came across this video on Youtube which beautifully illustrates how this occurs and the various effects it can give.

Regards

Re: Rolling Shutter.

Rolling shutter effects can be seen with focal plane (mechanical) shutters as well under the right circumstances. As the shutter blind slit traverses the frame the subject can still be moving enough for a time-based distortion to occur.

Re: Rolling Shutter.

I like the idea of a focal plant shutter. Would be specially useful for macro of flowers
