HDR button

I cannot fathom out the use of this button? I want to bracket 3 shots at 2stops
Differentials. I would prefer to use this as a button ie the HDR buttoning poss.
The shots then will be merged in Lightroom not camera.
I would like the switch when not switched on to allow the camera to act normally when in manual or aperture priority mode. I hope I have explained this clearly.
Kind regards mike.

Found the answer now. Many thanks Mike.

Re: HDR button

What camera body is this?

E-M5 (II) and E-M1 (I) do HDR slightly differently, but both have a choice of HDR modes. The first two are in-camera modes in which it creates a single JPG from multiple shots. HDR modes 3 onwards take multiple shots but deliver them as a series of RAWs to be combined by the user in post.

In E-M1 (I), HDR button gives a choice on the bottom of the rear display, selectable with the rear wheel. On E-M5 (II) you choose your HDR mode using the menus, then the HDR button simply toggles it on or off. (HDR button ignored while camera is working on creating JPGs)

If your camera body is other than these two I don't know for sure.

Caveat: Above from memory - if it doens't make sense I'll check up later and answer more certainly.
