150mm f/2 at LCE

I'm not really sure whether this is the best section of the forum for this, but I'll stick it here anyway.

London Camera Exchange have a used 150mm f/2 4/3 lens, with MMF-3 micro 4/3 adapter, at their Worcester branch:

https://www.lcegroup.co.uk/Used/Olym...-3_188443.html

It's expensive, but it is a fantastic lens and I don't think I've ever seen one come up second-hand before.

No connection - just happened to spot it while browsing.

Does it come with a free weight lifting course too?

Fair point. Actually it's not that bad - adds up to quite a chunk if you put it on the 2x converter as well though.

Reminds me of the guy who went private for a vasectomy.

The surgeon said "that will be 1,500 please"

The guy said .... you guessed it .... "It's a snip at that price"

True David, but how about this for a bargain ......

Brand new and two left, one of the best lenses I have ever owned and should have kept. I'm tempted to go for one myself and use it with my E-1, it's a little ( lot ) too large for the PEN-F.

Re: 150mm f/2 at LCE

In my E5 days I had one of those and the 35-100. They are stunning lenses but heavy compared to MFT. Apart from composition I seldom got a duff shot even in difficult lighting conditions.

I now have the 12-40/2.8 and the 35-100/2.8 which are pretty good too although not quite as fast. Recently I acquired a 12-100/4 and it will be interesting to see which gets the most use.

Re: 150mm f/2 at LCE

I'm now using mine as the 'standard' lens on my E5, now that the 12-60 has developed a problem.

OK this is getting 'TOO' tempting now Must resist, must resist I keep telling myself. Obviously they want to 'shift' the two now, I wonder just how low they will go ? ..............

Is the 14-35 significantly better IQ than 12-60? E.g. resolution?

(I realise at f/2 it has better low light capability).

I have both. I usually use the 12-60 as my 'carry round' lens, but because it's developed a fault, have started using the 14-35.

My impression so far is that the 14-35 is considerably better than even the superb 12-60!

Even cheaper version here, described as "near mint" for 900, if you don't mind buying from overseas. (LCE feels like it offers more consumer confidence; they don't want people complaining in their shops)
