Thumbs up New silver E-M1 Mark II camera

Yes, that's right! Read all about it here. https://photorumors.com/2019/01/22/o...a/#more-105556

As there was a rumour of a FW update then that seems like it is coming this way as they did with the Mk I. Get ready for FW update 3.0.

At least the price would have been better than a silver one to come & you'll get the FW update too.

Yes, but it seems they are doing the same as they did with the E-M1 & bringing a firmware (Version 2.0) update with it. Interestingly the Silver E-M1 came 24th September 2014.

Will it have any titanium in it, or is it simply a 'titanium like' finish?

'Titanium' is a current buzz word ('Wow - titanium, it must be good!')

There's a Ford Focus Titanium - I don't suppose it's got a gram of the metal in it!

(The titanium sheet I've met was fearsomely difficult to bend and shape! I've never tried machining it.)

Jim
I used a titanium to make chainplates for my old boat. (Chainplates connect the mast stays to the GRP hull.)

It was surprising easy to drill is my only comment.

Re: New silver E-M1 Mark II camera

Actually, I don't know where PhotoRumors got that titanium idea from because officially it's "Silver".

I have 20cm of titanium in my back so perhaps I should get one to help my back....

Re: New silver E-M1 Mark II camera

I noticed Wilkinson Cameras have it advertised on pre-order for 150 more than a black body, plus no min 200 for PE (which could be worth a further 150'ish if buying the likes of an early Pen body from ebay). And no body + lens deal savings either.

Re: New silver E-M1 Mark II camera

Really done on the cheap, just a paint job with the dials all still black. I much prefer the black body.

I agree, I'm a bit disappointed tbh. Think I'll end up getting black now

Re: New silver E-M1 Mark II camera

Really just paint?
My E-M10ii is silver and it has a couple of scratches in the EVF housing. It's metal so they're not that obvious. I prefer the silver/black bodies over pure black but it's pretty marginal
