video card

I've just bought a Dell U2519 monitor which is capable of 2460x1440. My video card, a Geforce GT 610, has only HDMI or DVI. The former gives only 2048x1152 and the latter is not supported by the monitor. It would appear that I need to upgrade to a card with DP. The monitor is just for ordinary office work and photographs - no gaming capability needed.

Does anyone have any advice please?

Re: video card

Well, you could drive it at the lower resolution, but I guess that won't be too pretty. I think you'll need a new graphics card (or take the monitor back for one with lower resolution). Since you don't need it for gaming, something like this should do:

Re: video card

What you seem to have is a good monitor and a very low spec graphics card.

Upgrading the graphics card as Paul suggests is the best way to go in my opinion especially if you got the monitor at a good price.
