Using The Calendar

Hi all,

If I put an event in the Calendar will everyone be able to see it?

I just wondered if there were events I was interested-in, may be others would be too. I'm not suggesting 'a meet' just as somewhere you may like to go too.

For example, I placed the Tornado Train event on the calendar (7th Feb) with its details so that others may also try and capture the loco on route.

I can't see many other event in the Calendar other than members birthdays.

Thanks in advance

Graydon

Re: Using The Calendar

I think it would be good to post events or even 'meets' in the calendar, I sometimes miss posts but bb more likely to check the calendar.

Re: Using The Calendar

Yes Graydon, everyone should be able to see events that are placed in the calendar. It is always a good idea though, to maybe post a link to the calendar event in a thread, because not everyone thinks to take a look at the calendar, and thus might miss items that are posted.

If an event is posted in the calendar, then this will also appear on the front forum page under 'upcoming events' - see screenshot.

This is currently set to show the next 14 days events, but if we're going to use this more and more, I can easily amend this to show a greater number of days ahead.

Re: Using The Calendar

Thanks John,

I'll start to load some of the things I have spotted locally. I do check the safari group meets, but I'll just load things I was thinking may have good photo ops when taking the family out. May be others could do the same.

Regards

Graydon

Re: Using The Calendar

No probs Graydon

I have amended the forum home page event notice period to include 60 days worth of events now. Hopefully this will soon fill up.

Thanks for using it.

Re: Using The Calendar

John,

I have posted a few items through until May. Just wondered if they were okay. There are so many things going on, in the near vicinity, I just chose a few.

Regards

Graydon

Re: Using The Calendar

I have put the Rutland Water meet up on 22nd March, I didn't know whether to put all the info in the calendar or just point to the thread.
