Thumbs up 14-35 and 35-100 f2.0 SHG lenses

I've decided to minimise my kit so selling these lenses.

In excellent condition and come fully boxed, both are about 18 months old.

1150 each incl RMSD UK only.

PM me if interested.

Re: 14-35 and 35-100 f2.0 SHG lenses

Not than I can afford one of these, but is there more than one version of the 14-35, maybe a lesser non-pro version?

Seem to recall reading something about it on my t'internet travels but can't recall where!

No there is only one 14-35, there is a 14-54 f2.8-3.5 lens.

Thanks Paul, must be getting confused!

In that case I've not seen one of these - are they rare?

Re: 14-35 and 35-100 f2.0 SHG lenses

Both these lenses have outstanding optical quality and are very fast (f/2), with constant aperture throughout the focal range. The are so sharp you can use them with confidence at full aperture. On the down side, they are relatively large and heavy. The 14-35 has SWD focusing which is very quick and quiet, although the 14-35 has a reputation for AF hesitation under certain circumstances. The 35-100 uses a more traditional AF motor and some feel the focusing could be faster. My experience of lenses from Canon and Nikon of similar focal length ranges suggests to me that there is little if any performance compromise - I think we are a bit spoiled by the speed of the 50-200 SWD!

Having owned both lenses, I can only second what Ian said. Both are outstanding and together they are a dream combo (although a heavy one).

Re: 14-35 and 35-100 f2.0 SHG lenses

As an owner of both I can confirm what has been said. I find I use the 35-100 more than the 14-35 as I have less need for the wider angle.

Hi Paul,
Have you sold 90-250 yet?

I'm quite interested in getting 35-100 eventually, looking for good deals

Re: 14-35 and 35-100 f2.0 SHG lenses

The 14-35 is now sold pending payment.

Out of interest my 90-250 is also sold pending payment.

It's moments like these you wonder if you have done the right thing lol.

I'll also consider a partial exchange of a 50-200 Zuiko lens (either version) for the 35-100.

Hi Paul,
Would you be interested in partial exchange for 8mm fisheye or FL-50R flash?
