Re: 300mm/4 Pro

Well done Daniel. It is a brilliant lens and I am sure you will continue to enjoy using it. Yours looks very different to mine with the sight, camo cover and tripod mount. The first thing I did was remove the mount as I only use it handheld and wanted to save every ounce of weight I could. I also keep mine in a holster and the mount made it too tight to fit properly.

You have got some great wildlife on your Flickr pages: Nuthatch, Redstart, Crested Tit and Red Squirrel. I am very envious.

Ron

Re: 300mm/4 Pro

Thanks, Ron.
All in the feeder and in a tree right out side our window! ;-) Not allowed to drive until I get official permission from our eye doctor, so I have just been sticking around close to home learning how to use it. Brilliant piece of kit, to say the least!

Re: 300mm/4 Pro

Great bit of kit.
Curious to know more about the "gun-sight" arrangement.

Re: 300mm/4 Pro

Have a look here:

+ the next two shots. I have since modified it a little for the 300/4. It is a great help for BiF as it makes it very easy to frame and follow the bird. The AF will either work or it won't, but I find it far better than using the view finder unless the bird is really slow.
