Walti, I did try i.a.w. your instructions but there's something amiss in the way I'm executing things. 2nd try coming up.
Much obliged to you and everyone taking part...

Hi Phil, the fact you can not see them is worrying to me as the pictures are supposed to be public. When i follow Walti's method of uploading using the advanced tab i get the message similar to this: "If you're seeing this its because you have no 'freaking' pictures".

This is most odd and for the life of me I can not see what I'm doing wrong.

Re: How to Post Photos?

When I look at members galleries I can't find a gallery for Ricoh.
But, when I look at the profile for Ricoh he does have an Album called Holga Toy Lens with 4 photos in it.

This seems strange. Not sure what the relationship is between a Gallery and an Album. I thought that Albums existed inside your Gallery?

Prob a very stupid question, but :

Are you highlighting the code, then using Ctrl+C to copy and Ctrl+V to paste ?

I'm not sure there's any logic I can apply to the difference, but I suspect it's at the heart of the problem.

Re: How to Post Photos?

I think there must be a problem with the way the photos have been uploaded. They are visible in an album called Holga Toy Lens but they do not appear as they should. When I click on the photo nothing happens and the usual window with the code and other details is not displayed. I would try uploading them again.

Thanks Ron, just done that and the images have now successfully loaded and I've posted them in the Toy camera thread.

(Of course the pain for all here is not repaid in the images themselves, but I'll treat this as a learning experience.)

Glad it's all sorted now but the reason for all your problems Steve is beyond me. It didn't seem like you did anything wrong.

Re: How to Post Photos?

I've been trying to get my head around this and I suspect it is because, for some reason, when a new album is created the pictures in it don't appear in the main gallery. I've always uploaded direct to the gallery but maybe I will try creating an album to see what happens as I really don't understand this.

I think the reason maybe something to do with how the forum s/w treats pictures in the album c.f. the gallery. Currently I have a duplicate set of some in both, but now I know which works I will delete the superfluous copies in the album to free-up resources.

Re: How to Post Photos?

I have uploaded stuff directly into albums. My normal workflow is: Click on Gallery at the top of the page.

Home Forum Index FAQ User Control Panel Olympus Hire Gallery Community Calendar New Posts Unanswered Search Quick Links Log Out

Click on My Albums

My Photos My Albums My Favorites [ 2 messages ]

Click on Create New Album and go the the process of creating it.

Create a New Album

Scroll to required album and click on Upload Photos

[Upload Photos]
[Delete] [Edit] [Sort Photos]

Go through and complete the upload process and then I can see my recently added pictures in the "Open" window (from the advanced new message window)
