No offence to either side whether Remain or Leave, who voted, but given the ongoing parliamentary events fiasco, perhaps, the question that should be getting asked is: Why were the public given a referendum to vote on at all? Perhaps, FOSKID sums up the whole sorry issue in a nutshell.

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

Hmmm

Airbus’s Senior UK Vice President Katherine Bennett admitted on Sky they were asked to do it today by the government. More project fear.

Plus this was just posted elsewhere

" Airbus has always been more than willing to rant about Brexit, even when they aren’t being prodded by the Government. Surely their enthusiasm for relentless remoaning at politically convenient moments can’t be anything to do with the astonishing sum of €64,172,543 Airbus have received from the EU in just the last five years. Almost €13 million of taxpayers money was funneled their way in the last year alone…

And it’s no doubt a complete coincidence that Ford, who have also been doing the remoan media rounds today, have received almost one billion Euros (€926,117,372) from the EU over the last five years, pocketing an eye-watering €233 million just last year. No wonder they like the EU so much…"

You can check the data yourselves here its from the EU's own site.

http://ec.europa.eu/budget/fts/index_en.htm

Just sharing to give a little perspective.

If you start believing what the Captains of Industry say, it won't be long before you find yourself believing their annual company accounts.

Next, the Bishops in the H o L we be asked to warn us that we will all rot in hell if we go through with it.*

That will give the remainers a wing and a prayer.

Airbus are the latest big company to warn that they are likely to relocate in the event of the UK crashing out of the EU with no deal. That's about 150,000 jobs if you include the support industries. These businesses are extremely worried about Brexit, not Corbyn.
How would business survive without investment?

And who with any sense would invest in any business knowing that a Labour government is likely to nationalise it at any moment without warning and without paying shareholders a penny?

This is not without precedent. I hold, or rather held shares in both Northern Rock and Railtrack. All are now worthless thanks to Labour, (as is my pension fund, but that is another matter).

We are not just talking about 'wealthy investors' here but pension funds, life insurance, banking and so forth.

Money does not multiply on its own. It must be invested somewhere to earn dividends.

Yes, and 81% of MP's voted to trigger article 50.

The excellent Neil McGregor (History in a 100 objects) has recently conconcluded a series of interviews with people from six countries about their perception of the UK. All were interesting but the most telling remark came from the Greek interviewee. Why on earth did the British government conduct a referendum without a minimum percentage margin in favour or against. No figure was given but it strikes me that say 5% at least would have been sensible. The politicians are as equally divided as the electorate, hence the critical mess we are in.

A massive mistake by Cameron not to place a minimum majority on the result, either way. Instead we got the ‘first pass the post’ method that stuffs our political system.

OK got you - the mushroom principle of management

Fed On ***** (and) Kept In (the) Dark.

I knew a slightly different version before but which says much the same thing, I'd not reduced it to an acronym though!

And now stuffs the country too. I remember at the time wondering why on earth a minimum margin was not set, for such a massive change I'd have thought a margin of at least 60:40 should be required.
