Feedback (both good and bad) most welcome (if it's really bad please PM me ;-) ). And if you felt like putting up an Amazon review I'd be delighted, thanks.

Re: My New Novel

Thanks sponner. That one click ordering terrifies me (especially as my mouse was misbehaving last week, but luckily Steambuff hubby ordered me another one. And plugged it in. Technohero.)

Re: My New Novel

My daughter and I both thank your for Wargeld and Other Sories. Wargeld most meaningful to an old Vet. Just ordered Death in Spiggs Wood after reading the intro chapters. Nothing like a good mystery.

Awwww, thank you. Those few words mean a lot to me.

If you wish, I'd be grateful if you could do a review on Amazon.

Re: My New Novel

Finished it, enjoyed it, well done!

The procedural cop stuff is pretty damn good and you manage to bring out the self defence section 3 CLA stuff really well.

If I have any crticism teh interplay between the cops is great, in the main, then occassionaly seems a bit "old fashioned".

But that's nit picking and probably just me, a cracking tale and well researched (assuming you are not a custody officer )

Re: My New Novel

*Spoiler remarks ahead*

Thanks Sponner. When I started writing this I didn't know the difference between Magistrates's and Crown Court, any legal knowledge came from the Penguin Book of Law and I was terrified of the internet. It was the basic premis which grabbed my attention because in books there seemed to be an assumption that any violence, even lethal violence by the goodies, would be overlooked.

Of course, it is totally unrealistic in that there are more than 2 response coppers in the area and that they are double crewed. ;-)

(Are you a custody officer? You sound like you know what you're talking about)

Re: My New Novel

I'm part through it and thoroughly enjoying it. It will certainly get a good review by me when I'm finished! Any more of this "series" in the pipeline?

Re: My New Novel

There are two which follow this one, but need some work, particularly the thrid in the series which needs major chunks cut out and possible bits of the fourth one I had in mind adding in. That fourth one never really took off and elements might be better in the third one.

Then there is a novel set in the same fictionalised Essex, but under a different team, but my agent is currently offering that one to publishers. I have a sequel to that one in the planning and research stages (which is also the, "Oh strewth this'll never make a novel," stage.)

Re: My New Novel

I had this feedback on another forum. I'm a bit perplexed by the five years comment, though, and wonder if I've overlooked something.

Whilst away in sunny climes I read Death in Spiggs Wood. Thoroughly good read it was too. I wasn't expecting much, but I found the writing style very engaging and just when I thought I had it all sussed, off it went in a slightly different direction and blew my theories. The ending was good, but it felt like it was a bit rushed. Perhaps we could have had a bit more in the middle. It seemed slightly irrational that the "Overlord" would wait a full 5 years before going for retribution.
I enjoyed the book, even though it is not my usual genre. Good on you, and lets have some more. I also read the Wargeld etc., which were also very much enjoyed. Linda, your mind inhabits some dark places!

Re: My New Novel

I'm not getting that (although it is a few weeks and a few books since i read yours).

I'd be more worried about the dark places comment

My main worry is that people might think I indulge in strange bedroom practices or extreme sex!
