Panasonic Leica D Vario 14-150mm Lens

Change of heart on this, plus funds needed elsewhere...

Amazing lens.

As new condition, boxed with pouch, lens caps, hood, manual, unopened warranty card.

Re: Panasonic Leica D Vario 14-150mm Lens

David that's interesting I didn't get a lens pouch with mine but as it's never been off the camera since I bought it I'm not too bothered. It's a great lens as you say just a shame about the cost. Anyway should you sell the other lenses instead? - really depends on what you your photography needs are, loosing the f2.8 of the 14-54 would be a shame. For me I'd sell the 17.5-45 and 40-150 although it won't make you so much money.

Re: Panasonic Leica D Vario 14-150mm Lens

My preference in your shoes would be to go with the weathersealed lens (one of the attractions of the E-1), especially given its faster aperture will help keep ISOs down and give you a little more control over depth of field in the overlapping ranges. I suspect that focussing may be a little faster in poor lighting conditions too?

Ε-1 doesn't have IS and the built-in IS of the Leica 14-150 will probably keep the ISO's in lower values despite the slower aperture.

Plus, the 14-150 is a very consistent lens with excellent resolution all across the range even wide open, which cannot be said about the Zuiko 14-54 or Zuiko 40-150.

I will however agree about the DoF and weather-sealing...

Re: Panasonic Leica D Vario 14-150mm Lens

I do like having the E-1. Just such a 'nice' camera, and the Leica also sits fairly well on the E-PL1 with MMF-2 but although that's my highest resolution camera I don't enjoy using it as much and neither of them get picked up as much as the XZ-1.

I'm forming the conclusion the XZ-1 is enough camera for me, but it still feels good to have the PEN and DSLR around. One from each camp.

I guess only time will tell which I stick with?

By the way... XZ-1 went back to Olympus yesterday with a lens fault. Stopped retracting into the body in Super Marco mode. Lens works fine otherwise. So I'll have to use the others more for a week or two!

Someone take it off him! It's the nearest you'll get to a one size fits all for FT. I've only had mine a few weeks but it's not come off the E620 which I use as a walkabout camera and some of the pix have already been published.

I can't believe this is still for sale and such a bargain! I already have one and it is the mainstay of my system but I can't bear knowing that one of these rare lenses is going unloved. Don't tempt me!

Would like it to go to one of the forum members here if possible.

I tried it out again on my E-1 but I'm not worthy of it!

My sentiments exactly, especially as the price has dropped. I can't see it ever coming off the E620 which is my walkabout camera.

Echo those sentiments from me too. Hope I never have to sell mine. I'd go to ebay, I've seen them go for much more than you are asking here. Alternatively you could contact Harrison Cameras in Sheffield. That's where I got mine from secondhand so they must buy them too.
