LR Backups

I have a lot of LR backups on my hard drive and am thinking of deleting all but the most recent. Is that a good idea or not?

Re: LR Backups

Don't see why not. You are the boss..........

You can delete directories from within Lightroom. Otherwise you get the directory name but no photos. They can be synchronised in Library mode.

I get the same problem. My picture folder fills up, they need sorting and saving to the external drive.

Might have misunderstood you. The backup files don't seem to take up a lot of space. Presumably they would be replaced when you next leave LR. Frequency of that can be set.

Re: LR Backups

I periodically delete older back-ups t save space and haven't had any problems so far.
That could be tempting fate!

I do likewise - keeping only the last 2 or 3 catalog backups. Each of my catalog backups is currently ~3.6GB. I regard these backups as protection against catalog corruption/loss on the PC I use for running Lightroom and I haven't thought of a reason why I might wish to revert to anything other than the latest (or possible the most previous state of the catalog).
