"Bird Photography"

We have a lot of Bird Photo's posted in this forum because they are such a wonderful subject with the long lenses we all aspire to.

I have an interest in some of their "older" cousins... Birds did of course evolve from Dinosaurs.

Nothing special in the pictures, but the site is a site of special scientific interested so you're not allowed to collect or damage in any way, just take pictures ... So I did !

What interests me is that this is one moment in time some 220 million years ago captured forever, stunning !

Regards
Andy

Re: "Bird Photography"

Fascinating pictures. It was a good idea to put something there to give an idea of scale.

Where is this? In your neck of the woods?

Re: "Bird Photography"

Yup

It's just South West of Cardiff. The trouble is you can walk right over it, but if you don't know just where to look or what to look for you can go straight past them

Some others are documented here http://www.swga.org.uk/htmfiles/walkspdf.htm it's the last on the list

Regards
Andy

I found the info, thanks Andy. Amazing that they are so close to Cardiff.

I have seen some great photos taken along the Glamorgan coast. I will arrange a trip soon with some friends from the camera club and do some serious photography - I haven't been able to do much recently. There is some lovely coast around Ogmore and Llantwit Major.

Re: "Bird Photography"

Wow, they're interesting.

I think there are some sets of dinosaur footprints on the Isle of Wight, but I'm not sure where.

Yes ther are - they are on Hanover point on the South Coast. My pictures are on slides and teh scanner is packed away at the mo so I found you this if you are interested.

The IOW ones are a lot more impressive than the Welsh ones, but the Welsh ones are Geologically very important being some of the best of the earliest anywhere in the world
