Early Morning, River Don

One of the plus points of working shifts is that I don't need to get out of bed at silly o'clock to capture the beautiful early morning light at this time of year.
This was taken after my nightshift recently on the River Don behind our house. The layer of mist on the river was an added bonus.

Re: Early Morning, River Don

That's a lovely morning shot. I guess I better let you go to bed now it's silly o'clock.

Hi Raymondo

Here are links to a couple of my Flickr Albums that show the river in different seasons and time of day.
I've also added an album of some of our local wildlife.

I agree with you it is indeed a lovely image but he didn't get up early to take it - he was coming home from work and what a view to come home to!

Re: Early Morning, River Don

A superb shot Mike.

Beautiful capture of the wonderful light, reflections and contrasting mirror smooth pool and turbulent water over the weir. Great composition and overall inspirational.

Many thanks for posting.

Re: Early Morning, River Don

Hi mstphoto, just had a look on the sites that you directed me to and I have to say that all photos are really excellent. all of the landscapes are breathtakingly beautiful, especially the river don at different times of the day and in different seasons. I will have to revisit these sites time and time again to take it all in, I have been blown away with your macro and wildlife shots:, please stand up and take a bow. I am going to take some shots of the river douglas that runs through wigan (not as nice as the river don) thanks for the inspiration.
