One touch white balance in Movie mode

Does anyone have any experience with one touch white balancing in movie mode? I have tried to do this and find I can't. In Photo mode it's OK and I can save a one touch setting to any of the 4 available presets. In movie mode the option to record and save a custom white balance setting doesn't work. The option to use a previously registered setting is OK

The only work around I can find is to come out of Movie mode, go into one of the P/A/S/M modes, register a CWB and save it to one of the presets and then go back into Movie mode and select it there. Crazy!

I have a dive trip next week and this will be the first time I will be making videos underwater. One touch white balancing will be absolutely crucial to getting the colours right. A re-calibration of WB will be needed for every change of depth or change of light.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

Re: One touch white balance in Movie mode

I'm starting to realise the limitations of shooting video with the E-M1.

It appears that in Movie mode there isn't the option to set the AEL/AFL button to focus - it's disabled in the menu. Not having BBF whilst shooting video is going to be a pain

Re: One touch white balance in Movie mode

I use the Em1 ii in video mode. I find its sometimes slow to focus, otherwise it works well. I don't think the back button focus system works at all. But never played with the options, if they exist...……….

Results are always pretty good. I actually use my TG-5 more for video these days, and that works very well...……...
