There's another review here too with detailed user instructions:
http://mirrorlessplanet.com/2016/02/...red-dot-sight/

So far it's still on my 'possibles' wish list!

Yes it's been on my shopping list for some time too, just never quite decided if I'd rather have the Oly one or one of the many cheap alternatives off ebay. There was a thread on here a while ago that discussed this I seem to remember.

They are very good if you are happy shooting with both eyes open.

If you have ever shot clay pigeons then you will get on well with it.

In general, it's great for picking up and following fast-moving subjects, such as aircraft or birds in flight, but you are dependent on the camera AF doing its job without supervision. I found that the tracking AF on my E-M1 was far too unreliable but the E-M1 Mk.ii is very much better and can be trusted.

Calibration of the dot position is tricky and I have added marks on the wheels to help, as the wheels are easily moved. The mirror doesn't always flip up to exactly the same position. It needs to be checked regularly against a distant object, with the camera on a tripod.

On an MFT camera, it's best to keep the focal length below 300mm, to be sure that the subject remains within the frame.

With those caveats, it does a good job.

Re: EE-1 dot sight

I have one of these, and it is certainly easier to pick up and follow a bird in flight. The only downside is that the small wheel settings are easily disturbed when putting into or out of your camera bag. I also have a cheapo one from Amazon, which has the settings locked by allen key, but the hot shoe connector is small and does not fit correctly.
