The Apple tree in my garden:

The tree

A bracket fungus on it

Some white stuff... (the mycelium from the bracket?)

Re: Communal flowers, trees, plants and fungi thread

That is a definite bracket fungus but I have never seen exposed mycelium associated with one. Watch for spores forming on the mycelium, which would indicate it is an unrelated mould.

A Pink Rose

These, highly scented, roses are a bit untidy, certainly not the perfect rosebuds of greetings cards. Let's see what you think of this one. The second image is the first one, softened digitally.

The stereo is crosseye.

Olympus EM-1, Olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro, f8, sunlight, hand-held.

Harold

Re: Communal flowers, trees, plants and fungi thread

Chinese Mayapple Podophyllum versipelle “Spotty Dotty”

Podophyllum versipelle is Chinese Mayapple. "Spotty Dotty" is a recent hybrid with another species.

When we visited a garden open to the public for charity, we were told to look out for this. Expecting some spectacular, huge plant, we were surprised to see that the leaves were only about a hand span across. Furthermore, it was in shade, surrounded by crowded and taller plants.

These images could only be obtained by holding back leaves with one hand and holding the camera at arm's length, relying on the rear screen and autofocus. That stereo pairs, via cropping and editing, came out of this is surprising.

The flower required 1/5 sec at f13!

Olympus EM-1, Olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro, f8 or f13, shaded daylight, hand-held.

The stereos are crosseye.

Harold

Pelecyphora asselliformis

This dwarf cactus is of interest mostly for its insect-like groups of spines.

Olympus EM-1 (aperture priority), Olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro, f9 or f11, hand-held.

The stereo is crosseye.

Re: Communal flowers, trees, plants and fungi thread

Mammillaria with Red Flowers

This was sold as a small plant in a ceramic pot. It had no label on it but the genus is obvious and it has no long spines, making it distinctive.

I used the diffused light of a cloud on a bright, sunny day.

The stereos are crosseye.

Olympus EM-1, (aperture priority), Olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro, f11, hand-held.

Harold
