My Macro Mission continues! Really pleased with progress today!

Just a few days ago I thought pictures like this would not be possible with my E400 but thanks to outstanding hints, tips, advice and inspiration from this forum, oh and a recycle bin full of blurs and blobs I am chuffed! Still using EC14 and 70-300mm

To say I am delighted is an understatement, I have got the hairy legs, hairy backs and detail in the eye but I am now well and truly hooked on mini beasts!!

Can anyone recommend a good book for ID's?

Thanks again for all the advice!

Tim

You are doing well Tim. Macro is a whole new world that's been happenning under around you for years, enjoy the fascination as well as the technical challenge of the photography.

Re: My Macro Mission continues! Really pleased with progress today!

Hi Tim, that's great progress in just a few days, no wonder you're pleased! Soon you'll be giving help to others with macro questions. It's also great to see what your camera and lens can do, just shows that even older models are capable of stunning results. In our never ending quest for the latest and greatest technology I think we sometimes forget that a camera bought three years ago is every bit as good now as it was then.

Re: My Macro Mission continues! Really pleased with progress today!

It is exremely addictive, and challenging!

Thanks all for the positive feedback. I think movement and shake has been by sole biggest problem. These for me stand out as I was able to use a fence to lean on so there was very minimal movement.

Before I go forking out on Macro lenses I have ordered a head for my monopod to give me the extra stability.

Heres another one of the same fly.

May have got him a bit to tight in the frame and oversharpened? The detail is satisfying.
