E-M1 Mark II Friedman guide

When struggling with the menu system on my E-M1 Mark I, I found the e-book by Gary Friedman ($19.95 including updates for iteration of the firmware) very helpful. Now I have moved to the Mark II I asked him if he planned a similar e-book. The response was that if 100 people asked, it might be worthwhile. I realise that i'm more technically challenged than most in this forum, but if others used/liked his stuff and would buy an E-M1 Mark II book, let him know at www.friedmanarchives.com

I have no financial interest in the project.

Re: E-M1 Mark II Friedman guide

I've never found these sort of books useful personally. I much prefer to figure it out for myself through tenacity and lots of coffee!

Re: E-M1 Mark II Friedman guide

The Friedman book for the MK ii is available as a PDF version, for those people that requested it.

I agree about the Olympus menu system - it's not the most intuitive. You may find this a useful resource: http://www.wrotniak.net/photo/m43/em1.2-sett.html#CONIS

That's quite a good guide............

Actually just the Contents Table is almost enough.

I have found the Oly menu system OK once you have use the camera for a while. Just need to know what's available really..........

Re: E-M1 Mark II Friedman guide

I found the Friedman Guide helpful for the Mark I, and he did publish free updates whenever Olympus updated the software.

For the Mark II, however, I bought David Thorpe's 'The Olympus E-M1 MkII Menu System Simplified' for my Kindle and found it very good (and good value at £4.77).

In the end, though, the best way to learn is by using the camera - and it still does things which have me tearing my hair out! (Probably my fault but easier to blame the camera!)
