WiFi Transfer

After reading about this app/software https://cascable.se on the Amateur Photographer tweets I decided to try it while I'm laid up with this horrible virus. I downloaded the 10 day free trial and it connected very easily to my E-M1 mark II wifi. I could then select the photos I wanted and they were then transferred directly into Lightroom. Quite impressed!

Re: WiFi Transfer

That's a good find! I tried it on my iPad and it works quite well.

However, the "free" version only transfers jpg files, but that's ok as OIShare is the same.

As I mainly use Capture with a cable attached, I'm not likely to swap to this, as Capture has a lot more functionality.

It may get Olympus thinking, as the OIShare is quite old now and a revamp wouldn't go amiss...

Re: WiFi Transfer

Thanks Graham. I only had raw files on my camera and it did bring them in on the "free" version. I find OIShare so frustrating only bringing in jpg files, and it does need a revamp!

Is Capture an Olympus feature or third party?

Amanda

It's a fully functional Olympus production that works really well. You do have to use a lead as it's a "tethered" system, but it is as quick as the USB downloads for ORF files.

And it's FREE
