In LR, or a similar post processing package.

Incidentally, the sun looks rather blown in the sun, I'm not sure if it was blown at capture-time, but it might be worth pulling back the highlights slider, if possible.

Got this off Flickr.
Olympus E-M1, OLYMPUS M.12-40mm @ 26.0, ƒ/4.5, s1/640, ISO200

It sure is over blown. Now wondering why I did not stop it down further?

Re: Photo Challenge 91 - December Skies. Discussion Thread

You don't say what focal length was used, ie wide or long, but f4.5 should provide adequate DoF for the scene. To reduce the EV value, it would be better to increase the SS than to make the aperture smaller, certainly don't go smaller than f8.
However, scenes like this are extremely difficult to control with a digital camera, it's all about the DR and the straight line response of the sensor system.

Re: Photo Challenge 91 - December Skies. Discussion Thread

I was a bit worried when the competition started as I looked out at the sky and could not tell the difference between it and a neutral gray test card. Luckily the skies cleared in time for people to take some shots and make their entries.

Never expected that given the quality of the other entries. Thanks very much indeed all. Will get my thinking head on for the January challenge.
