Any E-M5II owners prefer their E-M1?

I know this is hardly a topical question as the 1 has been out for a long time and the 5 Mk II is no longer a new camera.

However.

A few months ago I bought a 5 Mark II and, because I have GAS and can't stop looking at Ebay I picked up an E-M1 because "at that price it would be rude not to..."

Anyway I kind of appreciate the 5 II is a newer camera but I find myself picking up the 1 more and more. And it's mainly the button/dial ergonomics.

I just find it more logical on the 1, even buttons like the viewfinder button is in the right place and the mode dial and drive/AF metering buttons are "right" but I keep hunting for buttons on the 5 II.

Just wondering if it's me or maybe people change.

I thought I'd buy that 1 as I couldn't lose if I decided to sell it but when I have them both in front of me I think it would be the 5 II that would go. And it is being used less and less.

Mal.

Yeah, handling is unsurpassed for me on the M1, probably because the slightly larger real estate allows a better layout of more buttons/dials/levers.

However the M5ii is significantly more compact, which is surprisingly useful, and I do use the better long-exposure capabilities quite often. Some people use the high-res, of course.

(Psssst! Don't mention flip screens!)

Well I actually prefer the tilt screen for low level shooting and every time I flip a screen out I think I'm going to catch it on something.....

Re: Any E-M5II owners prefer their E-M1?

The E-M1 was the flagship, even when the E-M5 II was introduced. So while the E-M5 II has a few extra features, some of which have been added with the E-M1 firmware update, the E-M1 should be able to hold its own against a lower model.

Re: Any E-M5II owners prefer their E-M1?

It's now about 50/50 in terms of useage for me between my E-M1 and E-M5 MKII.
The E-M1 generally gets used with my Pro glass and the E-M5 with my primes.

Re: Any E-M5II owners prefer their E-M1?

Due to even more GAS I recently bought a Pen-F which could be a little compact beauty with primes though ergonomically I find the button placement a little weird and the touchscreen has to be off or I'm forever selecting focus points with my nose!

Re: Any E-M5II owners prefer their E-M1?

I have both and used them differently so I would say it depends on what I am shooting.
Though there are times when I both at one.
